Three ways in which the lives of farmers and herders would have been different from hunter–gatherers:

  • The farmers started leading a settled life by building houses for themselves instead of leading a nomadic life unlike the hunter-gatherers who moved from place to place.
  • The farmers started producing food instead of gathering food which helped them to have more food than required for the entire family. Whereas the hunter-gatherers gathered their food and ate it uncooked.
  • The farmers used various kinds of tools which were polished to give a fine-cutting edge such as mortars and pestles while hunter gatherers continued to use stone made tools.
