In 1913, Henry Moseley proved that atomic number is the fundamental property than its atomic mass.
Atomic number (Z) of an element is the number of protons in the nucleus of the atom and also represents the number of electrons in the outermost shells.
Mendeleev’s Periodic law was modified and atomic number was adopted as the basis of Modern Periodic Table.
Modern Periodic Law: Properties of elements are a periodic function of their atomic number.
The periodic table based on modern periodic law is called the Modern Periodic Table.
